Or Impérial - Exsto Cognac Limited Edition 888

Or Impérial - Exsto Cognac Limited Edition 888

€1,500.00

Or Impérial is delicate with a pure nose of passion fruit, lime zest, sea shore, yellow peach and floral notes of violet and rose petals. Exotic spices (vanilla, ginger, nutmeg) are accentuated by the sweet oak and tertiary notes of dark chocolate, nougat, earth, roasted cinnamon, honey, marmalade.

The palate is dry and elegant followed by a suave, ethereal and magically pure and vibrant mid-palate. A complex explosion of flavours - lime peel, passion fruit, sea salt, ginger, dark chocolate - leads to a finish highlighted by star anise, vanilla pods and cinnamon spice with hints of tobacco, white tea and rose petals.

When a drop of water is added, it accentuates the tertiary notes of sweet oak, dark chocolate, earth and honey.

Or Imperial is a blend of 8 “eaux-de-vie” aged between 35 to 100 years old, chosen out of the very private family stock from the brand’s producers, that has been kept sacred by generations. Due to the rarity and scarcity of these “eaux-de-vie”, only 888 bottles could be produced.

The terroir topography of the different areas of Cognac featured on the bottles were hand drawn to represent the complexity and diversity, while the cap was designed and handblown by talented French glass artists Eve and Laurent George. The cap alone took six months to design and several days to make a single piece, combined with Vinalok technology, this innovative achievement ensures the bottle remains hermetically sealed (air and water tight) to ensure the enduring quality of the cognac.

TALK OF THE TOWN

“ Or Imperial with its run of only 888 bottles worldwide, contains eaux de vie from private, family stocks that have been kept for generations. There’s kind of a romantic story there too — many these eaux de vie predates WWII, and had to be hidden from the Nazis during the occupation. You can’t taste the war story, but you can taste (and nose) plenty of flowers, citrus fruits, and honey in its opening, with an almost-Kyoho grape like flavour lurking around with chocolate, and just a hint of salinity.” Weets Goh, journalist at the Peak Magazine
